A decree stipulating the conditions for “clubs de jeux (gaming clubs) in Paris” along with provisions related to casinos has been signed by the Minister of the Interior and was published by the government of France on May 10, according to G3Newswire.
The body of text is a completion of the law of February 28, 2017, in relation to the status of Paris and metropolitan planning, which ends the ban on gaming within Paris effective January 1, 2018. The antiquated law, which bans “gambling games within 100 kilometers of Paris” and dates back to 1907, was amended 20 years later when the Barriére Group received permission to operate a casino in Enghien-les-Bains, located within 11 kilometers north of Paris.
